What’s your role at Bailey?

I am one of the owners of Bailey and I am mainly involved with operations and finance, however I do get involved in all other areas of the business – I’m very hands on.

Take us through a typical day at Bailey for you…

A typical day is one that is very varied! From emails to calls to meetings, with a lot of travel thrown in, not to mention trying to keep calm about things beyond my control like traffic and flight delays!

What’s your favourite thing about working for Bailey?

It’s so rewarding when we deliver a stunning looking building to all stakeholders’ satisfaction. I love the humour and laughter of colleagues and working with my family.

What’s the most challenging aspect of your job and how do you overcome it?

Keeping in touch with the team and having my finger on the pulse while being away a lot can be a challenge. I overcome this by utilising video conferencing and other modern communication, although it’s an art I am still very much learning!

What advice would you give to someone who would like to work as an owner/director

Always keep positive and invest and trust in your team. Face your challenges head on and don’t shy away from doing what needs to be done.
And never give up!

What three words would you use to describe the company?

1. Progressive
2. Integral
3. Ambitious

Do you have any nicknames? What is it?

None that are repeatable!

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Roast beef, Yorkshires and roast potatoes with thick gravy and a lemon cheesecake for dessert.

If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?

1. A Sunseeker 130 Sport
2. A herd of cattle
3. A sommelier

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy spending my spare time with my wife and children.

What is on your bucket list?

African safari, scuba diving and crewing on a Tall Ship across the Atlantic. Oh and getting my pilot licence!

If you were given a choice, where in the world would you like to go?

Everywhere I haven’t already been.
