The day starts with checking my inboxes – and there are three of them! First coffee, while checking how many dictations from the sales team have hatched overnight. Multi-tasking while taking phone calls – can I squeeze in another coffee? Attending meetings and taking minutes as required. Then I check items one and two again. Fix the coffee machine. I’m also the person who sends out the quotes, keeps the records straight, and oils the wheels for the rest of the Sales Team.
The team spirit, and the free lunches are an added extra.
Prioritising. Everybody’s job is more important than the one you’re in the middle of. Stephen Covey’s time management matrix works (in principle anyway)!
Be extremely flexible – if you can’t be flexible this isn’t the job for you!
