Five star finish for Hilton Bankside with Bailey Rainscreen Cladding
A stunning new build in the heart of London, the £115m Hilton Bankside represents the next generation of design-led Hilton Hotels. The contemporary, industrial look of the building combines brick, glass and a striking bronze coloured Bailey Rainscreen Cladding System.
The Bankside location is ideally situated with connections to airports, rail and Tube networks, as well as being walking distance to some of London’s most popular landmarks including Tate Modern and London Bridge. Such a prestigious, vibrant built-up area required an eye-catching, well considered design.
The eight-storey hotel’s unique construction, designed by Dexter Moren Associates, comprises tall and low-rise buildings, layering various materials to create a juxtaposition of old and new.
Bailey was chosen to supply the metal cladding for the project thanks to its team’s expert technical knowledge and its ability to fulfil the bespoke aesthetic requirements of the architect.
Using advanced manufacturing techniques, Bailey produced more than 1000 aluminium rainscreen cladding panels in 15 different types, all powder coated to create a uniform bronze finish. The final product emulates the luxurious, premium feel of the five star rooms and facilities within. When seen in the sunlight, the hotel has a metallic glow sure to catch the attention of passers-by.
Working closely with contractor IGP management, Bailey supplied the panels to the site in batches using IGP’s manufacturing schedules. The panels use a hook-on system, making them easy to attach and remove.
Hilton London Bankside is owned and operated by Splendid Hospitality Group under franchise from Hilton Hotels and offers 292 stylishly appointed guest rooms, an Executive Lounge, 11 meeting rooms and an indoor swimming pool.
