Bailey products used for award-winning projects
Two flagship construction projects involving Bailey products – the Telehouse North Two data centre and the redevelopment of London Bridge Station – have won prestigious awards.
Telehouse North Two, a new world-leading data centre in the London Docklands that features a striking Bailey façade, has been recognised in the 2017 Data Centre Solutions Awards. Winning the Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year award, North Two is one of the most advanced centres of its kind in Europe. The cladding on this ground-breaking building is designed to emulate the tracks on a circuit board; a complex design that was expertly brought to life by Bailey.
Following this, London Bridge station has been named the greatest infrastructure project in London in the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) London Civil Engineering Awards. Main contractor, Costain, was presented the accolade at the awards ceremony on 18 May.
Judged to be the infrastructure project that will bring most benefit to Londoners, the transformation of London Bridge Station includes a new concourse the size of Wembley Stadium and 15 new platforms. Bailey has been working with Prater to deliver cladding, soffits and ceilings for the station, employing the latest in 3D modelling techniques to ensure the best possible finish. The redevelopment will be completed next year.
Daniel Gilmore, Bailey CEO, said:
“We’re proud to have been instrumental in the delivery of these incredible projects. They are testament to the importance of innovative construction to the capital – whether it’s improving the lives of commuters or providing a home for the latest data security technology. The success of these projects has been down to the strong partnerships we have with the contractors we work with, alongside our in-house expertise and ability to deliver even the most complex and challenging designs.”
