High performance Bailey System 17000 awarded BBA Certificate
Bailey is delighted to have attained a BBA Agrément Certificate for its System 17000 bitumen felt waterproofing system for flat roofs. A valuable third party endorsement, the certificate will give specifiers, contractors and architects added assurance that System 17000 has been rigorously tested to high industry standards.
The British Board of Agrément is one of the UK’s leading notified bodies offering approval, certification and test services to manufacturers of products and systems supplying the construction industry.
The Agrément Certificate confirms that System 17000 is extremely durable with a life expectancy in excess of 30 years. A long lasting roofing system, System 17000 gives clients peace of mind and shows a clear overall saving on whole life costing compared to low quality systems.
BBA approval is recognised by building control, government departments, architects, local authorities, specifiers, and industry insurers and is considered to be a mark of quality, safety and reliability that provides reassurance of the product’s fitness-for-purpose.
Independent testers at the BBA put System 17000 through its paces to determine weathertightness, fire performance, resistance to foot traffic and penetration by roots to name but a few. System 17000 passed the tests with flying colours as it provides high quality waterproofing by maintaining the optimal balance of bitumen, plasticisers and fillers.
Daniel Gilmore, Bailey Total Building Envelope’s CEO said:
“This accreditation from the world renowned BBA, further strengthens Bailey’s position as a leading supplier and manufacturer of building envelope materials, providing high quality solutions for contractors and architects. ”
System 17000’s BBA certificate states that it is fit for its intended use provided it is installed, used and maintained correctly.
